I worked at Cogswell College whilst being a student. I worked under the Creative Service Director as a Jr. Graphic Designer for 3 years. I have built up a big repertoire of experience during my time here from Print to E-Mail Marketing.

View Book

CHALLENGE

The College had an outdated viewbook and needed a new one to give to prospective students.

SOLUTION

Based on the current branding, I updated the viewbook to be in line with our new guidelines. I updated content, images and pages to contain new, relevant information.

RESULT

The viewbook is in its final stages of approval and it will be available for download on the College’s website in April 2016.

Cogswell Brand Re-Design

CHALLENGE

Cogswell desperately needed a fresh, new look to their brand. They also needed one-page printed flyers to describe and sell each degree program.

SOLUTION

I created a new style guide that added more color and images. This guide serves as a template for all degree programs including print and online collateral. I also implemented a specific color scheme for all programs.

RESULT

Each degree program has a colorful flyer that distinguishes it from the other programs, yet all pieces maintain a consistent feel. Also, each page is stepped by 1/4″ so that when the printed pages are laid on top of each other, each program page appears as a tabbed color bar. The new brand has been recognized by the Board of Trustees as being “transformational” and “outstanding”.

E-Mail Marketing

CHALLENGE

Create email campaigns that target prospective students.

SOLUTION

Several times a month, for the last 6 years, I have been sending out email campaigns that target our demographic. I have discovered that the best days for sending emails are Wednesdays and Tuesdays. For our audience, the best time is at 12:30 pm or 5:30 pm. Early mornings have a decent response as well.

RESULT

By sending out emails at the right days and times, with subjects that interest our audience and reminders as to why they are receiving the email, I am able to achieve upwards of a 35% open rate.

Promotional Posters

CHALLENGE

Cogswell College had various clubs and events happening all around. As the Jr. Graphic Designer I took first hand reigns at designing and curating content for promotional posters.

SOLUTION

I created various sketches and delivered various compositions of poster designs, followed guidelines that they wanted to assure I kept.

RESULT

In the end, all feedback was taken and produced posters and print work the clients were happy with.

Social Media Sliders

CHALLENGE

As news, student projects, events and programs are announced, Cogswell needs slider images that get users attention and get them to click through to the article, event RSVP page, or pages on our site.      I design these slider images for the homepage.

SOLUTION

Every month, I design a new Open House slider. I also create new sliders for exciting campus news.  These images are linked to news articles or pages within our site to drive people through the site and enable the user to know more about Cogswell.

RESULTS

The sliders are constantly updated with new and exciting information which brings users back to the site. Because the slider is one of the most clicked features on the main page, it is incredibly important the images are high-quality and attractive.
